Description
Call of the Freaks is the second album from my Bay Area based jazz band, Silver Bell Jazz Band. The album title comes from Luis Russell’s song by the same name. We recorded the album live at the Bootleggers Ball, a monthly swing dance in San Francisco and had the talented Tati Scutelnic shoot photos of the band.
The album represents my proclivity for the Bauhaus school of design and being that I only had myself to answer to (insert diabolical laugh here), there weren’t many iterations for this.

Ideation & Process
The dancing couple on the front is based on one of the photos Tati took during the dance lesson which preceded the band’s performance.
