For years I’ve admired Rob’s playing with one of San Francisco’s hottest jazz bands, Gaucho. It was a pleasure to get to work with him on his own project, an album of original swing tunes. Rob is one of a kind, very right-brained, unique…who am I kidding, Rob is a weirdo in the best way. Check out my favorite track on the album, “How To Be A Weirdo”, for a better idea.

The Process
This was one of those “blue sky” designs where I had complete freedom to go in any direction I wanted, hence the variety in the initial sketches.
Variations
I did another offshoot of sketches based on this idea that I had which I really liked but we ultimately decided to go in another direction.
